Scientific Information Division(SID)
This was established in June, 1996 and it is one of the Divisions that provides supporting services to the seven main scientific divisions.
The Division is responsible for the dissemination, storage and management of information. It is made up of the following units: Network Management Unit (NMU), Library, Public Affairs, Book Bindery and Photography.
The Acting Head of Division is Mr. Ebenezer Attah Asamoah.
Network Management Unit
This unit sees to the general administration of the Data and Voice Networks of the institute. The data networks refers to the Local Area Network, the provisions of computers, provision of backup and supporting services to computer users and the provision of internet services to researchers and other workers of the institute.The Voice Network deals with the provision of quality telephones services to all offices of the institute and residences. It also provides telephone services to all the sub-stations and plantations of the institute.
Library
The Library Unit provides library services to staff of the institute. The publications of research officers are stored by the library, and the circulation, provision and purchase of periodicals, catalogues, publications and annual reports is handled by the library.
The library also handles the exchange of information between the institute and other sister research institutions within and outside the country.
Public Relations
The unit serves as the link between the outside world and the institute. This unit handles all the protocol aspects of the institute, including travels, acquisition of travel documents for officers, exhibitions, and receiving all visitors to the institute and conducting them round.
The unit also organizes all public gatherings of the institute, including radio and television programmes for cocoa farmers.
Book Bindery
This unit handles all the printing and book bindery work of the Institute. This includes the printing of most of the accounting vouchers, receipt books, way bills, requisition book and forms, data collection forms, the binding and rehabilitation of worn-out library books.
Photography
This unit is responsible for the taking of snap shots of plants, experimental farms events and programmes of the institute. The unit also sees to the printing, framing or lamination and storage of these photographs.
