Achievements
- Major and minor diseases of cocoa and their distribution in the country have been mapped out.
- Short to medium term strategy for the management of CSSV and the severe form of black pod disease of cocoa (Phytophthora megakaryd) has been developed.
- Recommendations from the Divisions are being used in the government's Cocoa Diseases and Pests Control Programme (CODAPEC).
Collaboration
The Division collaborates with all other Scientific Divisions at CRIG through the Thrust system. It also collaborates with other research institutions, universities and donor agencies (agrochemical companies, DFID, EU, ICCO IPGRI) in developing farmer-centered, cost-effective and environmentally friendly disease management strategies.Profile of Research Area Staff
